MDRA Points Series Rules and Regulations

The registration entry fee to join the MDRA is $25 includes free MDRA T-shirt.  This must be paid prior to first round of your first MDRA race.  You will not be awarded any MDRA points if your registration entry has not been received prior to first round of racing the event.  Points will only be awarded to the racers that have paid their registration fee.  To qualify for state points, you must attend at least one MDRA state points race at 3 of the 4 participating tracks.  Racers making at least one race date at each track will be awarded 22 bonus points at the end of the season as an incentive to attend all races.

MDRA classes will be Super Pro / Pro / Sportsman / Jr. Dragster.

MDRA State Champion awards will be given for class champions at the MDRA banquet.

There will be only 1 Jr dragster class for MDRA points.  Jr racers will compete in the regular classes by the hosted track.  Jr thunder racers who want to compete in the larger lightning classes with the opportunity to earn more points will be allowed.

The class champions of Super Pro / Pro / Sportsman will run off for the Overall State Champion.
The following format will be used:
Each class champion will be given one time trial with a dial in.
Racers are allowed to dial .20 (two tenths)  under their class limit during the run-off races.
The other 2 racers will then race with the winner of that race proceeding to the final for the state championship.
The winner of the state championship will be awarded the MDRA State Champion.
Racers can race multiple classes but must have different race vehicles and be registered for each class entered.  You will not be allowed to race more than one class with the same race vehicle.

If a racer registers for multiple classes they will NOT be allowed to transfer points from one class to the other.  However if a racer is only registered in one class they may transfer points in the event of a vehicle malfunction.  Example:  Super Pro car breaks down during time trials then driver has the opportunity to enter Sportsman class with a Sportsman car.

$20 first round loser buy back will only be allowed on the Saturday program.  There will be no buy back on the Sunday program. ($5.00 from the buyback goes into the final points payout fund).  Jr’s will not be allowed to buy back.

Each racer must qualify in at least one event at 3 of the 4 tracks to be awarded prizes / trophies / money at the  MDRA Banquet.

The points structure for all classes will be as follows:

11 points will be given for entering the race event and  be included on track run sheet or track operator approval.

NOTE: YOU MUST BUY A TECH CARD AND BE PRESENT ON PREMISES ON A RAIN OUT TO RECEIVE SHOW UP POINTS!
10 points will be awarded for wins in round 1 and 2.  You must win any round to be awarded the round points.  A first round buy back will not be awarded points for the round bought back in.
11 points will be awarded for wins in rounds 3 and after.

22 bonus points at the end of the season for each racer that attended at least 1 race at every track.
In event of a Saturday rain-out, points will continue for races carried over to Sunday.  Sunday points will stop at the end of the race day.  For incomplete races, points for be awarded at the end of the last completed round for each class.  No points will be awarded for practice tree races.
